Edenmere Shetland sheepdogs

At Edenmere, breeding is about far more than producing puppies. It is about preserving the essence of the Shetland Sheepdog while thoughtfully improving upon each generation. We breed with the goal of producing dogs that are beautiful without sacrificing soundness, intelligent without losing stability of temperament, and refined while retaining the strength and versatility expected of the breed. Structure, movement, temperament, intelligence and overall balance all play an important role in our decisions. We believe that a puppy’s first experiences help shape the dog it will become. Our puppies are raised with individual attention, affection and age-appropriate experiences, giving them the foundations they need to grow into confident and well-adjusted adults. Our aim is not simply to produce a pretty Sheltie, but a complete one — a dog that can be admired in the show ring, enjoyed as an active companion and treasured as a member of the family. Most importantly, we believe breeding carries a responsibility to the dogs we bring into the world. We carefully consider each combination and each puppy as an individual, with the hope of finding homes where they will be genuinely loved, understood and valued for their entire lives.
